I have a 1:1 with HR in a few weeks to give feedback on management in our org. About half of our org has been selected. They say that whatever I disclose is confidential but I'm wondering if it could come back to bite me. Would you trust hr to keep any negative feedback about management confidential or should I keep my mouth shut?
I’ve always thought this as an opportunity to help not only u out but also help all ur colleagues who may have the same sentiments as you in my experience, when there’s a mass exodus of ppl quitting, it’s usually because of people not being open and willing to use “safe platforms” to share concerns. I have experienced many times where a whole team quit and a lot of individuals who were first to quit feeling the same where they thought in their best interest, and not share their true thoughts. At the end, if there’s an actual problem, you’re potentially allowing those problems to continue to impact friends and co workers you care about. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation where a company or boss or hr retaliated. Just don’t be negative to the point where ure singling out co workers, being too difficult, giving the impression u don’t want to be there
At large companies, HR will mow you down if the manager has a chance to sway them. At large companies, managers are put into their position by politics, even if they are intelligent. They are experts at the game and most ICs are simply not
HR is not your friend.
Absolutely
Our Hr utilizes the feedback to improve employee employer dynamics.
Eh, it depends on who they're trying to get rid of. There's so much behind the scenes, they could be fishing for things to get rid of a particular person, but can't announce that, so they need documentation. They could also be gearing up to make staffing changes and seeing who goes and who stays. I wouldn't give situational identifying information. If you mention a general issue that matches what they're looking for, you'll hear from them again.
Never ever. It is confidential in the way, they don't say your name, but they tell everything else to your management, and it doesn't take much for them to know who it was. It's a major trap. Just say positive and do your job. Work is only to earn your wage to afford the happy times outside work. It will bite you, no matter what anyone says. The usual belief is that if you have problem with management, you are the problem, not them.
That's why I like NPS. I blast em
Yes! That's the point
Be VERY wary.... HR is not your friend. If they feel you provide 'good' info they'll come to you again until you're on the chopping block
It’s not supposed to, but it very well may. Remember, HR’s primary role is protecting the company from litigation.

That’s a trap. Don’t fall into it. 😄. Whatever you say can and will be used against you when they want to. They are looking for positive feedback to use in recruitment marketing. Give them that and say how awesome your manager is 😁.
