Hello - been told I’m going to be laid off and have been applying to jobs in January. I have only received rejections so far. Been applying mostly to Product Manager/Senior PM roles in tech. I’m looking for some feedback on my resume from the community here, especially from anyone that regularly works with hiring PMs. Would also be interested in referrals! Thank you in advance. This could just be me but a personal summary section in the resume just doesn’t add any value. You’re giving a qualitative summary of yourself without stating any data points. Just adjectives honestly. I’d prefer for folks to remove that section and add more STAR stories relevant to the JD.
Fuck STAR stories 🍆💦💦💦⭐
Your emoticon use is confusing. Why are you cumming before your peepee touches the star ? How
Take out the summary. It's useless and can be read on your linkedin
You're the one that built a real time recommendation engine as a PM? I thought that's what engineers do.
OP - your startup experience is very financial payment centric. If you are applying for similar roles, understandable. Also the bullet point regarding manual sanction screening is not clear (for someone like me with no prior understanding of this space). The 3 year strategic roadmap bullet comes across as weak. Highlight what that expected/projected business goal outcome is. Lastly, the market is tough. So, please be persistent. Wishing you all the best.
Are you going to be paid off from amazon?
DM for referral, no longer at flexport, but will share company. We have lots of product openings at my current company.
I wouldn't. PM is a useless position.
Without PMs, who would Engineering blame when users don't use the product as intended? Who would business leads blame when client requirements are missed? PMs are like the ultimate buffer. You might think they are useless but frankly you'll realize you need them after all. The bad ones might hurt a project but good ones will help you save time and pain.
No. As an exec that has hired a few hundred PMs. Your CV has no demonstrated advantage. “Delivering” isn’t interesting. What did you do that was unique? What was your brilliant idea that changed a product?
Did you launch any products from scratch? Looks very operations heavy. Did you talk to customers at all?
What's the gpa out of curiosity?
Mine was a 2.7 Would you hire me?
Most people do not give a shit about gpa, but damn OP what were you doing lol
