>1 YOE, pre layoff TC was 150k but market kinda tough rn

If i were you, i would stick with the job with good wlb and prep for a TC 200-250K job interview on the side. Ofc depends on your personal circumstances, like location, COL and post tax income gain of 10-12K.

Ill be working for a startup recently aquired by them and seeing some not so great reviews about the wlb of the startup. Not sure how much has changed since it got aquired.

Depends where I'm at currently financially. But generally...no.

Honestly IBM is super chill with great wlb. It’s also a great stepping stone to get into another big company in the future! The pay is not as competitive as other big tech companies, but there’s probably a lot more job security despite the layoffs that have been happening. But if you love your current job and company, that’s also a really important factor to consider.

Before kids, I’d pick the raise. After kids, I wish I had taken the job with a better work life balance.

Seems a bit of a gamble for a relatively low return. Especially after taxes. Maybe spend another year at your existing company and them go for a >50% raise.

I feel like at 100k, you should try the higher TC. BUT you could also ask your current company to match, which would be the ideal scenario.

You have a job you love what more do you want? Don't change jobs for money because once you are paid 100k there is no going back.
