God no I wouldn't. 0 growth
But you will get to do with needful
Screw growth, itโs not like Iโm going to double my TC in 2-3 years? So Iโd take it, if Iโm competent Iโll figure out my growth after Iโm done making that extra cash in next 2-3 years.
It's poison... Only good for people who aren't worth better. Truly bright minds and genuises can never thrive in these companies.
Whom are you kidding, geniuses? Iโve worked with some of the best people in MS & amzn, none of them are close to what genius means. Theyโre good but really? If they were, why are they still in those jobs listening to shitty managers, working on projects that are going to fail. Anyway, Iโve heard some genius level people in Google, but seeing kinds of people theyโve been hiring (Iโve seen many like me) Iโm not believing that either.
By saying bright minds don't belong to these companies, I didn't mean everyone in Amazon or Microsoft or Google are genuises ๐ The fact was and remains that companies like hcl, wipro don't aim to the the best... They fill a gap in the Software ecosystem near the bottom that's all
No if you are visa resource. If you visa independent, then you can join but you will eventually come out after seeing the politics between onshore-offshore managers, no yearly bonus. Better stay away if possible. If you still take it, revert back with your experience later!
It is not going to be practically feasible for the Indian Consulting Firms to offer double the salary of product focused companies. The Indian consulting companies focus on quantity and volume VS quality and skills when hiring.
I am currently in one of the WITCH company and soon moving to a FAANG. Having worked for 6 months with them, my experience says as long as you are in a good customer project, you can manage. I took up the role earlier bcoz they paid me well too. Yes the growth is limited and politics plays a role to get a promo, but it help me become a ladder to the FAANG opportunity. If you are not on visa ,can survive in a bit of politics I would take it.
These companies are marketplaces like Uber. Technical people are like drivers - low paid, impact is per project etc. If you are a technical person, donโt join. If you are in a non technical role like Sales or Operations, you will usually be paid very well compared to the effort that you put in. Selling technical resources in the marketplace is quite easy because demand far exceeds supply so if you get a sales role, definitely go for it
Wow most of you would literally take a pay cut just to avoid working at WITCH. Must have something to do with stock options
If I'm offered CEO position of the WITCH, I'll take it
