Hey SAP Folks, Can you please elaborate on the levels at SAP (specifically PM related)? I've tried to look up the levels at SAP but did not have any luck. The hiring manager briefly explained that the levels go as 3.1,3.2,3.3,4.1...,5.1..., but how these map out? For example, is 3.1 equivalent to 3yrs experience and member of staff or 5.1 is equivalent to a VP level, etc.
I dont think there is a rule. I have 11 yrs im a 3.3
There are grades, t1.1 to t3.3 are for specialists, t4.1 to t5.3 are for experts and management, while country director and board level have individualized contracts. For specialist it is good to be 3.1 and up, but beware that it is almost impossible to become t5 as expert, these are places for head of development of Hana platform, etc. I believe that for consulting these grades are same, the just got another prefix, PM 3.1 etc
There are teams where you can become a T5 as an expert, without having to go into management or sales. I’m a T4.3 en route to T5 as an expert. However, most of these positions require you to be both highly technical and customer facing. If you want to be a developer that never talks to customers, it won’t pay as well as a customer facing position.
Hey - sorry for much later reply. Work at Qualtrics and we just got our levels from SAP. What does each level “mean” so to speak? In most companies its associate, xyz discipline, Senior xyz discipline etc. Does it “matter” what your 3-x means?
Within the T levels 4 and 5 specifically there are also PF and PM designations. I don't the specific phrase for PF but PM is "people manager."
Crickets crickets.... Anyone?
