Emotional rest is what Blind probably gives a lot of us.. after all the acting strong, confident and know-it-all at work, if u are in tech.. 8 hours of sleep is not all you need to rest. There are 7 critical types of rest: 1. Physical 2. Mental 3. Sensory 4. Creative 5. Emotional 6. Social 7. Thatโ€™s because sleep and rest are not the same thing. In our modern world, we have confused 8 hours of sleep for rest. Rest is restoration in the key aspects of your life. 1. ๐—ฃ๐—ต๐˜†๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ We need sleep, stretching, and stimulation of our muscles. Lack of physical rest often manifests in aches, pains, and lethargy. Rectify by paying attention to sleep and exercise. Donโ€™t just stretch or just stimulate (lift). Be holistic. 2. ๐— ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ We need mental breaks from mental work. Lack of mental rest often manifests in difficulty with concentration and recall. Rectify by improving self talk and time management skills. Also consider meditation. It helps release you from constant self talk. 3. ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ Ever been to a concert, and have your ear drums feel like they have cotton in them after? This can also happen with sight, touch, and taste. Rectify by taking a break fromย ย the monitors, headphones, or foods you need to. A few days in nature does wonders. 4. ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ Thereโ€™s a reason artists canโ€™t just be creative all the time. Creativity is best in bursts. Lack of creative rest often manifests in feeling like you are out of ideas or plans. Rectify by taking a sabbatical, appreciating the arts, and getting into nature. 5. ๐—˜๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ Emotionally draining comparisons, people, & situations are inevitable in modern life. Lack of emotional rest often manifests in feeling a need to express yourself unhealthily. Rectify by finding opportunities to be your authentic self. Express yourself. 6. ๐—ฆ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ Many social interactions are draining. Too many draining relationships becomes an immense cause of burden. Lack of social rest often manifests in seeking a moment for yourself. Rectify by spending time with those who give energy to you. Allow them to. 7. ๐—ฆ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ Even if we donโ€™t believe in god, we all need a deeper connection to our why. Lack of spiritual rest often manifests in a feeling of meaningless. Wondering if what you are doing has any impact. Rectify by connecting to your meaning and why. --
