You've probably already had your interview, but I would say be careful when evaluating your future there. Depending on the org/position, you could be really disappointed. Premiums for Oscar plans are still relatively high compared to the market, so you could argue Oscar isn't really making an impact (sure, we have a cool app and you may save money due to Oscar's extensive provider research, but you're still be charged through the nose for premiums). Additionally, it's kinda disorganized and there's a lot of reorg/change happening constantly; for a company that's almost 10 years old it's pretty wild to fathom (you'll hear people mention "growing pains of a startup", but Oscar is a public company and isn't a startup). At the end of the day this is health insurance, which is not the most exciting work. It's a lot of big talk and marketing, but most health insurance is tightly regulated at the state and federal level, so you're never going to make the impact you want to as a company. I will say the people at Oscar are great and I've made some solid friendships. Fun to work with, smart, and they take a genuine interest in you as a person. This aspect can make working at Oscar an enjoyable environment, but see the cons above. Unless you have a genuine interest in healthcare/health insurance, you'll probably be bored.

Thanks for updating me with much details, really appreciate it. I did had a discussion with hiring manager. I wanted to be very clear why this role is important and HM wasn’t able to translate that to be with clear impact. I said no to HM and recruiter but thank you once again.

You need to be specific about which department you were asking. It varies a lot
