Are we ready to admit the DEI outrage in engineering was mostly a lie?
Hey folks. I’m a L64 Engg Manager in the Teams org at Microsoft currently. Life at work is decent all things considered. My comp is not bad at all, and WLB is great. However, I’m not very happy with my team’s charter which is draining me mentally and taking away any interest in doing a good job. I’m considering switching to another company, but I’m concerned about the market uncertainty and poor work culture I keep reading about here on Blind. What are some good companies I can consider joining? It’ll be great if you could add a couple of lines describing why you are recommending them. Here are a few points that I would consider before joining a firm: - Don’t mind working hard, but some semblance of WLB or respect for employees time would be good. I am definitely not someone who will be available late night on an everyday basis. - Leadership and peers should be respectful. I can’t deal well with rudeness or shouting. - work should be interesting / high impact Thanks for your suggestions! I haven’t been in the job market for a few years now, so your inputs would be very helpful. Cheers! YoE: 15 TC: 85L #swe #software #engineering
