Facebook contract to hire vs staying

Got contacted by a recruiter from TEKsystems for a Facebook 6 month contract to hire SWE role. Is this worth pursuing? TC: not enough YOE: 1

Oh wow. Had no clue TEKsystems are working with them.

Possibly if it can turn to FTE. Check what the FT conversion/contract to hire clause is. Do your due diligence too and don’t take things entirely at face value.

What team are you joining? There are a few teams that are notoriously hard to get converted. They will either extend you for over a year or not convert altogether.

It’s for an internal tool team. Not too sure on the specifics. They did tell me once the contract is up it’s open for negotiation again, either for another contract or FTE

Avoid

Be careful. Last I checked, there is no such thing as contract-to-hire at Facebook. All SWE contractors still need to go through the full interview loop if they want to become FTE.

This is correct but the loop is shorter and basically a formality. The obstacle is just getting to this stage..

The loop is def not a formality

The contract position still has 4 and they are hard as full-time haha. The only difference is app criti and white board session. Contract is 4 interviews with different stakeholders portfolio review.
