Would you rather be a lead at a no name mid-level startup reporting directly to c-level and having a small team or work in a mid-level IC role for a well known company? Assume at startup you would have a higher base and options that could be really good or nothing at all.

Depends on age and career trajectory. If you are towards the end, think about retirement packages vs. reporting to someone other than c-level. If you are new, who can you learn more from? Do you prioritize work or life outside of work? Figure those out first.
