How is Foot Lockers Tampa office work life balance for software developer ? How are their benefits and compensations . current tc 130k yoe 6
So the Tampa (really St. Pete) office has not actually opened due to Covid, but will eventually. What team are you considering? Data? What level? Generally most people on data are cool. If you’re an analyst or data scientist you have occasionally have some things that need to get done for a VP on short notice that might require working late, but not common. Data engineering you generally won’t need to work late, but some do, especially in the case of a breakage. Some marketing, ecom, creative, and a few other teams will also be in the St. Pete office. Overall FL is a pretty good place to work and going in a good direction.
FL for a software developer is not at all a good company, they really don't care about the engineers. They don't pay well, no career growth, dull work-culture, won't promote no matter what. They do lot of cost cutting and find all possible way not to give bonus or promotion. Worst HR policies, goals & objectives. FL management doesn't care about the Technology team, they consider them as liability than an asset. CIO, CTO who won Forbes best CIO, CTO award left the company because of this pathetic work culture. He tried so hard to bring so much of value from the technology team and help FL but the management failed to acknowledge or even appreciate the fact that Technology are not liability. CIO left for this reason, he wasn't even given a farewell unlike the other executives. Only Pros I see is you get discount on products
Have to work evenings and weekends but get a discount on shoes
Will those hours be compensated in next sprints
No, not really. There is flexibility though from your manager. Generally the culture is work hard, and get your work done, without being strict on what time you do, how you do it or how many hours.
