In general, which would be a better looking company for the resume, as a first actual SWE role? Edit: anyone know if Capital One is hiring for entry level?? Lmao TC: 🥜 YOE: ~0
Capital One
Capital One is the far better option 1. Better for the resume 2. Higher caliber colleagues to learn from 3. More modern Tech 4. Faster paced and tech first culture
C1. DM me for referral
C1, let me know for referral if needed
Numbers don’t lie
I don't think so, I'm a SWE that helps with recruiting and I was told there are no entry level positions left. They are all filled up. You would need experience.
Second this
Not sure about Citi, but C1 is generally supportive in letting new associates to take time off their regular work to develop job related skills. I found this is a perk for new grad hires.
Both are shit for Swe, but you can see which team you are in. The team closer to the business will be better, for any business, period. Or TC Good luck!
Hey man!!! Not sure what you meant by "closer to the business" - what's an example of a team that's close to the business?
Banking, closer to business = financial products, trading, so if tech then Front office tech, product tech closer to business = team that is currently the most revenue generating where the management always might want to milk money and also invest if they see potential. Always good for your growth in terms of money and learning Also women here ***
Cap1 was breached not too long ago so they may be over regulated internally. Plus cap1 will be the case study of what not to do until the next big bank breach (Citi was the case study until cap1 due to a breach in the 90s), so expect to have that over your head and be frustrated by internal red tape. Citi you'll have more global exposure but sounds like the life at cap1 is better. Both will pay shit
