Bangalore: Nutanix vs Vmware
I've offer from the vmware( Avi networks unit) Bangalore: TC:68lpa( 49(fixed) +8.33bonus(17%) +15kusd stocks)(SMTS) . From the interview discussion, work is in distributed systems and SDN( I've experience and interest on both area). I've offer from Nutanix Hypervisior team as well. TC is almost same there as well(54 base +20k usd stocks)(Staff) . Based on the tech discussion, it seemed work in Hypervisior team is more into system side( qemu, libvirt etc) Based on the interviews, I more inclined with the vmware( all the interviewers were pretty solid) since I would prefer a good team over a good company. Your take guys? How is future growth in both the teams? Current TC - 50lpa(42+8(stocks)) Yoe- 7
Both are great offers. Nutanix hypervisor is a core product and should provide interesting work but they trouble you with title assignment.
That's right, I've worked on qemu kvm and libvirt and didn't find it much appealing and I think ahv is quite stable product, so not so sure about the work quality. Though hike and refreshers are much better in nutanix .
But why leave cohesity.. are the plans to IPO delayed?
My team has become boring and also the internal valuation of stocks has come down almost 35%. No ipo for next 2.5 years at least

Ok.. VMware might be perceived a step down but if you like the work and team then go for it.
Agree, nutanix/cohesity are better brands. But I really liked the discussion during interview with avi team. So I'm inclined towards VMware, unless someone who has 1st hand experience with ahv or avi networks could share finer details.
