Currently interviewing at Sonder and the recruiter was pitching me so hard I felt like something was not right internally. Should I jump ship or was the recruiter just overly enthusiastic? #tech
Do your research on here. There’s more than enough data regarding culture and the treatment of employees.
How do I got about that? Don't really use Blind so not sure how to search stuff like that
Just search for "Sonder". To name just a few high level departures over the past year, they include the VP of HR, EMEA Managing Director of Real Estate, UK Director of Real Estate, Head of FinTech, GMs of the following markets: UK, Paris, Munich, New York City, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Phoenix, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Dubai, and more. Company leadership has a few seasoned leaders like the CFO and GC but for almost the entire remainder, it's the first time being in a position of leadership in a public company. Almost all systems are built in house but riddled with poor design and bugs yet there's no $ to hire people to fix and maintain these systems going forward. Don't expect any perks or other goodies working there - during the pandemic, leadership basically said that anyone who doesn't like it should just leave (right in the midst of nationwide layoffs and with everyone cracking under crazy workloads). Look at how many open roles they have - there's a reason why they are having difficulty attracting talent. The culture is poor, employees are overworked and compensated well below market but are expected to be grateful to have a job.
I work at Sonder. What's up?
Work @ Sonder now (can’t seem to change company in Blind). Was @ Amzn for years prior. Was tired of Amzn (much of the bad press is true, but not all). Deeply regret leaving, at least for Sonder. Disfunction is everywhere. Organizational dynamics are mediocre on the best days. Zero confidence in CEO.
Meh I just do my job and not caring about politics and crap, yes it's messy but fun to play in a sandbox.
Can you tell us what happen to stocks..were employees able to sell them? Do you have to pay taxes at 10$ per share (even now is 4.40)

have u used their service? curious if it works good, prices aren’t much lower than hotels from what I found Wework did a hard sell on my coworker before their value plummeted, prolly difficult for such real estate stuff these days
I haven't personally used them but yea kind of fits the mold of trying to recruit someone desperately before the eventual nose dive
