Thoughts on Niantic?
Yes they made Pokémon Go but they said they’re focusing on other areas, like building an AR platform for others to utilize. I’ve just had my final round and I’m contemplating what their future and culture may look like. #niantic #software
They’re a cool company
One hit wonder investing in gimmicks
I play Pokémon GO - the ad partnerships (AR ads) are really superb ... they upgrade and morph the game enough ... if you don't like GO it might not be a fit though since they are to others point a bit of a one trick pony
PS-They have a massive community outreach program too. My friend that is a top player does not work for Niantic but has Niantic swag and event coordination work he does with them.
What role btw? I passed interview as server backend swe last month and finished team matching but suddenly was told that they're on hiring freeze.
Team dependent. PGO and Platform probably safer. In development games might be rough. Coworkers are great though.
How was the interview and it's process? Any leetcode? What's the offer?
