Currently interviewing for a mid level Product Owner position and was mentioned there are scrum master duties involved in the role as well. Anybody know what a typical PO/PM makes at these type of companies? This is fully remote and in a MCOL area. Current TC: $110k YoE: 4.5
Doesn’t Yum Brands own Taco Bell?
I'd be surprised if its much since they're based in Louisville. Many places around here aren't even trying to keep up with west coast companies remote offers.
Yeah I figured. I mentioned that a target range I’m looking for is $115k-$125k and the recruiter said it’s possible, not sure if I lowballed myself or if there was any additional room to ask. The benefits do seem pretty decent with lots of PTO and a budget for free food each month/quarter I think
Yeah, that seems about right if I had to guess. Id guess you could probably get them a little higher with a competing offer, but I'd think you're in the range they're paying.
I would say negotiate to raise the salary if it’s a FTE
It should be typical PO role I guess. And being a PO sometimes you’ve to perform the Scrum Master role.
Thanks, this is a technical product owner role working closely with a Sr TPO. I can DM you the job description if that helps to lookup a salary range. I thought $115k would be on the high end but do you think I can push even higher since it is a FTE role?
PO as the scrum master is a red flag for me.
It’s not a dedicated scrum master role. There are some overlaps where they mentioned I might have to run an agile meeting from time to time like a retrospective. The way the team is structured there is only 1 scrum master I’ll work with so somebody needs to be a temp backup in that scenario and I’ll work with a more senior PO
Ok that makes sense. I've interviewed at places where they wanted the PO to also be the scrum master. I noped out as soon as I heard that. They are opposing roles and should be done by two different people to be effective.
