I had an interview and it seems like I will get an offer from Redhat internally to a new team in the US, Raleigh to be specific. I also have an offer from a starter up in Berlin, Germany. (Cannot reveal the name since I might get doxed). These are the offers L1 Offer: 100K-120K USD + Relocation (I am not sure about final numbers yet) EU offer: 65K EUR (58K + 7.5K Relocation) --> Signed and accepted and visa process started, yet to submit passport Now, what should I do, people who moved on an L1 from India to the US, what're the pros/cons. How much time does it take to issue an L1 visa?. Let's say I got an offer this month, how many months does it take to issue an L1 visa?. And lastly, do L1 visas also get rejected?. I do not want to be in a situation where if I declined the EU offer and later my L1 visa also got rejected, it would be a Brrruh moment for me and I will be sad. Current TC: 10 LPA INR YOE: ~2 #redhat #hellofresh #zalando #booking #bol #l1 #visa #tech #housinganywhere
Yes L1 can get rejected too especially in covid times you never know about consulates. Also if you are on L1, you cannot switch jobs in US. So thats a cons.
Ohh yeah That's a good catch I'll keep that in mind :) How different l1 interviews are from a regular h1 or f1 Interviews
Hey OP, How was the interview process? Can you elaborate on the rounds?
Is that L1A or L1B ? World of difference between the two
Take up the Euro offer.. L1b is pointless.. u dont get any benefits and u have to switch to H1b and wait forever in gc line.. take up germany offer.. stay 5 years and get your pr .. its a no brainer deal.. on top of that Berlin is way cooler than carolinas.. dont look at immediate money.. look at long term..
Redhat you asked for inputs in another thread but didnt mention what exactly u needed my input on. ive never applied for L1 so not sure about time frames etc. i just know you cant jobs on that visa in US. for Eu, the offer seems about right. You ll have freedom to change jobs so u can stay one year and jump ship for higher tc once u know the market. If u want citizenship or pr obviously eu is better. Most countries including Germany will ask you to give a german language test when applying for citizenship ( u can read about the levels its not too hard ) Berlin is a great city overall. In the end really about what your life goals are long term :)
Yeah man, I wanted your views since you're living in Amsterdam!. Amsterdam is a bit better than Berlin hahahπ π because the language barrier is less. But yeah, if you're saying that 65k eur is good in Berlin, I'm hoping it to be good. ππ»π Thanks
Yep man for 2 yoe its a pretty decent offer. Overall EU TCs will be low.. so if u want to optimize for tc - try n move to Faang once u move to eu. It ll be easy getting interviews anywhere once you are already in EU . Good luck !
Hey @pacormir, I need some help. I have dm ed you
