Glassdoor has scores for each company based on these companies' own employees' reviews. However I feel most people only worked for 2 ~3 companies how can they give calibrated review?
You all say it crap. But eventually you all use the crap whenever you start looking. Funny people 🤣 Agree that their product can be improved. I still find their rating is the most reliable comparing to other ranking like Linkedin and indeed. Look at linkedin list, it lists Amazon second place for best place to work...
Being better than a very low bar doesn’t make you not crap. Glassdoor’s rankings are gamed by companies. That’s why it’s crap. The only useful part of Glassdoor is salary info, which you can use to check you’re not being lowballed with an offer, and a quick skim through reviews to see if you can spot any red flags like a culture of sexual harassment that the company won’t address.
GD Ranking is from user survey. It’s not games. Don’t make things up.
Recruiters at companies ask new hires to write 5 star reviews for Glassdoor during their orientation sessions. Facebook, to pick one example, has been doing that for years. There are hundreds of reviews on every company from people who have worked there less than 6 months. Those are not honest or useful reviews.
Agree that Amazon is a shitty place to work though
Depends on how many people are actually commenting and rating the company. If there are only 2 or 3 people giving good or bad reviews, I don’t think it’s very credible However I’ll read the comments and see the strength and weakness of the company
Glassdoor is crap
