Serious question in the title. I'm not asking because I'm attempting to beat the system by an stretch of the imagination - I'm asking because I've been an amex customer since 2013 and 100% of the times where they've asked "is this charge fraudulent," they've been correct. Additionally, there's been exactly 0 times where they've asked about a charge that I was like "oh this is gonna get flagged." By this, I mean that I've never had issues with random purchases such as a $3800 purchase at newegg, a $2100 next day flight to a funeral, a $260 meal on a trip (which was way out of my normal pattern, I'm taco bell trash, maybe chipotle if I'm feeling lucky), usage in Canada for a week, San Jose and Vegas back to back... all of it was totally approved, but a $11.24 charge to Uber was immediately flagged and put my card on hold. I'm asking because literally chase bank is asking every week "diD YoU MAke a FifTY fIVe dollar pURchAse to GCP fOr ThE 32nd MoNtH in A RoW?" How is the system that good? Are they pulling signals from my social media accounts or something? Edit: no this isn't an ad nor am I gushing. I've just legit never seen a system be so accurate especially considering there's never been charges that have slipped through.
What computer did you build?
That’s the team I work on :)
Maybe there are false negatives it is missing
I check my statement every month and never once. Maybe for others but never for me so far.
I used to be on the fraud team. Their ML models are genuinely great and gathering/processing lot of data. I contributed to the model and wrote a chunk of the paper.
Me too part of fraud modelling in Amex!!
Broooo I think imma close my chase account I can’t handle them mfker holding my transactions and making me wait 12h till they call me on the phone to confirm🤦♂️ f outta here!! Imma stay wit BOA
Capital one does the same thing. Yesterday I had to submit the same transaction three times
They should get in the ads game
Maybe they already are? Maybe that's why I spent so much at newegg? Come to think of it, I did see a delta ad before my grandmother died.... 🤔
