Guess the horrible company culture and sexual harassment scandals didn’t scare them off. Are we happy about this? Who will be the next acquisition? Roblox? https://www.theverge.com/2022/1/18/22889258/microsoft-activision-blizzard-xbox-acquisition-call-of-duty-overwatch
what's with that number in the title
Apple should start doing similar large acquisitions otherwise it’s going to get left behind. TimeWarner + Discovery would be the place to start.
Inb4 Apple acquires Disney
As a consumer, I wonder what Apple could do with Disney’s theme parks 😱
It won’t go through, this is anti-competitive af against Sony and Meta.
Even with this acquisition Microsoft is the third largest publisher behind Tencent and Sony, so no, not a monopoly.
Doesn’t need to be a monopoly to be anti-competitive
@goem Don't be evil.
What’s the biggest acquisition deal till date ? Wondering if I’ve seen anything bigger than this.
AOL + Time Warner 182B adjusted for inflation around 270B year 2000
LOL
Too bad, it could have been $69 billion! Just missed it
is buying blizzard stocks now worth it?
This ..
If you look, their stock already soared 27% on the announcement of the deal and they are currently priced at $65B. This is because that little gap to $68B represents the risk that investors see in the deal potentially falling through. As always, everything is priced in, no matter what anyone says.
Damnnnnn
Holy f, all-cash? What are MS’s cash reserves like?
Checked online. It was ~130B in 2019. Probably around 180-200B now.
Check this out: $137b, still behind apple and alphabet https://www.investors.com/etfs-and-funds/sectors/sp500-companies-stockpile-1-trillion-cash-investors-want-it/
Thanks for showing us $68.7B without decimals
You’re welcome, it’s more clickbait that way because people will come to comment on it 😉
Lol ok that was legit well played 😁 but isn’t clickbait more like “Find out how Nadella found the $69B to fund the acquisition..you’ll never guess” or something like that? 😂
