Is a SWE internship at NASA good for my resume?
I’m a freshman CS major and just got an offer from NASA to be on their ML special projects team. Does FAANG like NASA on a resume or is just another government job? It’s better than the other company that I already accepted an offer for. Tips on how to renege?

Do it. Don’t expect to learn everything all at once tho, but the name is nice
They do look favorably at NASA however you will need to stay in your role for a few years and demonstrate upper 10% percentile aptitude across 2/3 or more interview segments. So it’s a blessing and a curse, a blessing in that it opens many doors, and a curse in that you will not be given much of any margin of error vis a vis applicants from less prestigious organizations. After 3 years at NASA, meta offered 100k more if I was willing to relo. TC 163k
The name will make interviews easy to land.
