Program management position. Keen to hear about the current culture, team spirit - trending up/ down?
No the comp is bad. Even EA pays way more. But if you're looking at Act/Blz you prob already tried the higher paying companies like Riot, EA, Roblox, Epic Games, etc When I worked there it was a backstabbing culture (you often don't find out anything bad til your annual review plus it was overrun with bad managers). They ask all of your peers for feedback but the issue is you don't know who complained bout you esp when you were treated great all year long One of worst jobs (if not the worst) I've ever had. Wish I could write a review on them here- their score would be even lower (its already one the lowest you can find on this site). But some teams are aight there. I actually enjoyed it before I was reorg'ed to a different team (which turned an ok place into a very bad one). I still wonder to this day if it was due to discrimination (all the crap I had to deal with). I wish the employees good luck in their lawsuits because the problems they have there is real All that said, I do know some employees that enjoy it there but they are trying to escape due to the pathetic low comp and lack of promos Anyway just look at the employee reviews on Blind for Activision. Dont take my word for it! Teams worked with: Battle.net Austin (they were coo) Battle.net Irvine (Bad experiences, cutthroat) Web and Mobile Austin (Bad, cutthroat) Web and mobile Irvine (ok)
thank you @abchghi, very helpful. really appreciate it
Here's my take on it. My experience and pay have been good at Blizzard. In regards to the lawsuits, things feel like they are trending better. The general feeling is that the people on the teams seem horrified over some of this behavior discovered and, as a whole, want to create a safe place for everyone. There's a deep level of being self aware of change, of being on guard to harrassment and bias. That alone is a huge step forward for Blizzard.
thank you
Sorry but “a deep level of… change” is impossible when evidence is actively being destroyed. Sounds like you just drank the corporate Koolaid.
No; just look at the games they make :)
@memphiz did you end up taking the role? Wondering what the culture is like now? I am considering a similar position at ABK
