Heard Facebook is 996 or 997 culture. How about the public vacations? Is there some big difference btw Facebook and Google?
I think most people's hours range from 40-50 hours. Oncalls sometimes work during weekends, but not an entire work day's worth from what I've seen. What does a public vacation mean? I know we have more accrued vacation days than Google. Don't know the exact number at Google but we have 21 days off a year (around a month per year)
Only 996 if your manager is Chinese other wise it’s relaxed
What’s a public vacation?
What's 996/997?
9am to 9pm 6 days a week. This phrase started from China (alibaba tencent openly talked about it) but I haven’t heard any US company doing this
I see. Thanks. This is brutal
Are we talking about Porsches?
Every day is vacation if you love what you do.
No one at Facebook or Google works a 996/997 on a regular basis. At least not in the US.
This isn't anywhere close to reality. I worked maybe 35 hrs a week when I was there and got EE several cycles in a row. Overwork is entirely self inflicted.
it's googlers like OP spreading this 996 and 997 crap
