Is Splunk on a hiring freeze?

I completed 5 interviews (6 if you count recruiter phone screen). A week and a half after my final interview the recruiter said the panel is coming together to review. About 4 days later the Jobvite status changed to "closed" but not "not selected". I haven't heard from the recruiter since then (4 days). Curious if they pulled the position since the Cisco announcement and layoffs or if they just have a crappy way of recruiting and ghosting candidates far along in the process.

Please don't join Splunk even if you get an offer. Things are terrible at the moment

This happened because shitshow. Shitshow can take many forms, and doesn’t even matter what form this was; it’s still a shitshow. Imagine what it’s like working here!

I had 7 interviews with Splunk and my status turned to “Closed” after two weeks from the final interview. What does that even mean? I’m wondering if the recruiting team would even bother sending a rejection email to me after investing so much time in the interview process. Appreciate if you can share some similar experience with me.

I never received rejection email. I guess it just shows what kind of employer they are and feel like I dodged a bullet.

Thank you for letting me know. For a company like that, I don’t want to work there anyway.
