I dont know why, but I made the mistake of interviewing with Yahoo for an IC3 position, giving 7 rounds of interviews. My mind told me not to, but I just wanted to try it out. The initial compensation that they told me was around 200k USD(I am based in Canada). After I cleared all the rounds(giving 4 weeks of my life), they told me they were super impressed and I smashed most of the questions. However, a few days later they came back and said that we need to scale the offer since I am not based in USA and updated the total comp to 94k USD. Salaries for the same position are lower in Canada but cutting more than 55% just blasted my brain. No wonder Yahoo is classic case study of how to kill a promising business. Most unprofessional and no respect for anyone's time. I hope no one eventually buys them since Apollo Global is trying to sell the last remaining pieces of what is left of Yahoo. #tech #yahoo TC 165k

For 94k USD, you would not even find QAs in Canada. Plus they should have told the correct salary before taking 7 rounds.
