I interviewed at Uber ATG last week in their San Francisco office. I was looking forward for a reply within next 24 -48 hours as the recruiter had mentioned in my call with her (was expecting a positive feedback, because the interviews went well). It has been more than a week now, and still no reply. And this is after I specifically mailed and asked the recruiter for the feedback, more than once in the last week. This was the first time in my interview experience that the recruiter never got back to me, with ANY feedback. I feel that this is highly unprofessional, given that I followed up with them for the feedback. One would assume that sending their standard reply of "you are not a good fit" would take them a minute. I am guessing their ex asshole of a CEO has rubbed off on them a bit too much. Has anyone experienced this kind of a thing with Uber ?
I had a similar experience with Uber. Recruiter did not bother to give feedback even after I mailed them couple of times. I think it has to do with their culture.
I agree. If someone from Uber recruiting is around, I would suggest you to take it as a feedback (the one which you didn't bother to give)
Though it's besides the point, I felt that the interview was not quite technically challenging. So, its more bothersome. Perhaps it was some mismanagement on their part as to the number of open positions.
PM your info. I’ll see someone gets to you.
Did anyone ever get to him? If it is the Uber I came to know through my recruiting experience there (exuberant recruiting followed by PS interviewer being 15 minutes late and distracted, then radio silence for 3 weeks after), I would be surprised if someone from Uber had the time to hear out a candidate over Blind
This is not the experience I had at ATG. I actually joined the group.
See, you won't be a good example, because they DID extend you an offer. Your comment would have been more relevant had it been from someone who DIDN'T get an offer, but was promptly informed about the same, with perhaps some constructive feedback. Perhaps Uber reserves this douchebaggery for ppl who they reject. And that is what this post was about, as to how do the recruiters of a well known, internationally acclaimed company handle the people they interact with, which you would agree, reflects directly on the company's culture.
Reach out to others if you can. Ironically there's been a lot of recruiter turnovers recently, and your recruiter can be gone already
This is true. It’s a bad scene.
Uber recruiting has been notified of this feedback
Great. So, I should be expecting the feedback anytime then ? :-)
Can’t promise that much but the general complaint has been passed
Yup have had this experience with uber and some other companies too before. I think its maybe the recruiter you are working with. I have worked with some great uber recruiters as well.
I literally just got an email from an ATG recruiter this morning. Might as well take it for the practice.
I just read Uber PM recruiting feedback on Glassdoor. Brutal. People hate the Uber process it seems, partly because of the free labor element
Let’s all take a deep breath. There are horrible recruiters at every company. Much like there are horrible ppl in other positions. I’ll address this and anyone else’s concerns privately if they’d like.
Fair enough. But the bar is higher than other companies if you’re going to ask for 20 hours of free work.
Uber recruiting has no bar
Which team in atg?
This was for their backend infrastructure team.
