I was an IC, and moved to a lead/manger role. Got an offer from yelp for a EM role. Don’t know how they count the YoE in my case? The tc is less than my current pay. Base: 160k CAD RSU: 140K USD over 4 years Sign on: 10K CAD Performance bonus: 10% base Location: Canada
Am I getting a lowball? Is this Yelp’s typical salary band in Canada?
What’s your goal? Higher TC? Keep interviewing. Getting out of a bad place? Maybe consider the offer.
Don't take a down round on TC - so many fish in the sea. Also it rhymes.
Would like to practice my negotiating skill anyway. Can someone share some datapoints? Thx
Have you looked at levels.fyi? It lists mainly SF tc foe yelp but maybe you can use those data points to negotiate? Let us know how it goes.
How many YOEs do you have as an IC and manager? Not that it should even be relevant.
10 years as ic, 3 years as manager
Seems low for 13 YOEs. However still better than what you'll find at most Canadian companies.
Yelp RSU’s will not grow. Might even lose value. Don’t join that sinking ship lol
I am interested in the domain, and like the people I met. I would like to join and see.
If money is not your top priority, you wont regret joining.
Money is not my priority. Will try to discuss with the recruiter to bring the package on par with my current tc
Can confirm it’s a solid offer. RSU refreshers will be solid. Talk to your future manager if you want more clarity on the growth potential.
M1 or 2?

Don’t move for less than current TC unless you’re very unhappy.
