Saw there were big layoffs at Yelp and Eventbrite. Yelp laid off 1000 and furloughed 1100. Eventbrite laid off 450. Does anyone know what roles were included in these changes? I'm curious to see the breakdown of what types are roles are impacted. Sorry to anyone dealing with this at these or other companies. :(
It is across all departments for Eventbrite, but a big chunk of the music division. A lot of talented sales, ops, and engineering lost.
Did they offer severance?
5 weeks, regardless of how long you’ve been around. It’s brutal.
At Yelp it was mostly Sales with a small percent of other divisions
Eventbrite was across the board. Some engineers, 70% of sales and support gone, and the vast majority of the music department.
hmm they just did layoffs, I am a little concerned since I have an interview with them next week.
At Yelp, it was all roles
Specific departments? Did there seem to be any strategy behind who?
