"Walmart plans to acquire plus-sized fashion startup Eloquii for $100 million". I wonder how much success Walmart's acquistion tactic has actually brought. https://www.recode.net/2018/10/2/17924862/walmart-eloquii-acquisition-100-million-plus-sized-fashion
You don't think they're trying to compete with Target? I've always wondered why Walmart doesn't try to replicate Target more.
They always claim theyre competing against Amazon. I guess theyre being optimistic (but unrealistic) by setting high goals?
Seems like the way to live life
The point of the acquisition strategy is more towards improving the perception of Walmart to be more premium in the long run. True, it wouldn’t make any sense for Amazon to purchase Eloqui at that Price when they can get it for free. Case in Point: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/04/amazon-quietly-launched-a-new-accelerator-program-to-create-more-brands-exclusively-sold-on-its-website.html All said, we’d probably be a relevant competitor thought unlikely to overthrow or be a serious threat unless Amazon hands it out to us like Uber did for Lyft with Kalanick.
Walmart is trying hard to compete with us. Game on!
All trolling aside, I'm actually kind of excited for this. It's like a UFC cage match that lasts years
