Let's say Beth from HR retired and a new leader hired you to simplify the Leadership Principles. Arguably, lots of the LPs are contradicting and evil managers can cherry pick LPs to fire employees. To make things simple, you can only get rid of LPs, not add. Which ones would you REMOVE? TC: $280k
So many PMs voting for Are Right a Lot. We all know it's your kryptonite.
I like amazons principles. If people actually practiced them. As opposed to googles complete lack of customer obsession and bias for action. Amazon may be tough to work for but they deliver
“Strive to be Earth’s Best Employer”. Easy choice. This is clearly one that no one believes Amazon practices.
“Have backbone” is the worst one. There are good intentions behind it, but every jerk uses it like a license to treat people badly.
The principles are good. Garbage leadership is what we need to remove
All them. Replace with: “Be professional”
"Are Right, A Lot" just leads to toxic behavior.
How do you make people whose work is only having calls accountable?
I think bias for action is enough to cover a lot of ground. I'd get rid of right a lot too
