It has come to my attention that many of my comments across different YouTube videos have been removed without notification. The way I found out was to revisit my comment and check if they are still there after ~1 minute of posting. Preliminary results show that writing in support of Israel will likely result in comment removal. This policy happens to be in alignment with the view of the far-left. I will be systematically testing YouTube political bias and collecting statistical results. If you have also encountered YouTube automated censorship, please share your experience. Note: I am only interested in characterizing this behavior, and by no means expressing my personal opinion on the matter.
Maybe you're just getting mobbed by people flagging your posts. That'll probably get it temporarily hidden pending review at least. Also without examples of the actual we can't really know if they're written in a way that most reasonable people would flag as overly violent or whatever, or if they're really things that could only be explained as boss against an opinion that's unpopular in the wrong circles...
It is 100% automated, not flagged by the community. Because the removal always happens within a minute. The result is also repeatable.
Can you give examples of your comments? Did you for example call for wiping out Palestinians? Maybe Google algorithms incorrectly classify this as calling for genocide or hate speech. They need to retrain their models. We are in a new world.
See above
Maybe keywords like death, Hamas, etc. Trigger some rule or cause some model to act in a certain way. Try to rephrase.
Even non political comments are removed. If you write lengthy and logical or genuine comment, they also happen to get removed. Sometimes it shows up in your account but check with anonymous tab, it won’t show up there.
https://youtu.be/3IcZdT4SNI0?si=ZdPF-na8MQeU4eB9 Test comment: "Unfortunately the hostages might as well be considered dead at this point. However, their deaths will not be in vain, but instead will serve as a source of inspiration for all peace loving people to neutralize the threat of Hamas." Test method: Make the comment above, wait 30s, then try to make an edit. It resulted in failure because the comment has been removed. Repeated 3 times.
Toyota, have you considered that the comments may get flagged because "neutralize" is an incitement to violence and not because they are pro Israel? If you're really just trying to conduct a neutral study, fix your methodology.
