Hi, I was wondering if anyone at Meta in a relevant role to what I’m applying for knows what to expect for the phone interview. Or even the interviews following the initial phone screen. I was a career hopper and ended up doing a cybersecurity Bootcamp during Covid and haven’t quite got the right footing in the door yet. Just curious if anyone has any insights/ tips/ etc. I haven’t been the best interviewer and tend to make it to final rounds of things. But still currently haven’t gotten an offer. Titles I’ve applied and/or #cybersecurity #interview #security interviewed for: SOC Analayst I, Cybersecurity Analyst I, Security Analyst I, GRC Analyst I, and Associate Customer Success Manager (at cybersec related companies). YoE: 1
Cool advice in general. But not really beneficial for immediate question at hand.. doesn’t rlly make sense within constraints of my next 16hrs
Whelp since we’re on the topic of career change advice. How long were you in security before making the switch to SWE? LIke I said. Completely not a bad idea/advice. Probs should’ve made a different post regarding that. Would you be open to me dm’ing you about further details about your route?
Honestly don’t know but would expect the same interview as security engineer. Probably around what is XSS and types, csrf, hashing, how to store passwords, same origin policy, sqli, understand how to mitigate these and what can be done with each (if found xss can you read other tabs) For learning these I would suggest owasp’s site
I've applied to meta and some big companies for what I thought was an entry level role. If all you have is boot camp training don't expect a call back. It's hard to get in there
OP have you done the interview yet?
try smaller firms where competition is much
Definitely doing that as well. But since I already have the phone interview. Might as well try than not at all. Still good practice even if I don’t get it.
then just read the job description and brush up. with freeze, there is a high chance of ghosting. good luck
