Software company C3.ai cut jobs last week, citing employee performance and the need for cost savings, Bloomberg News reported on Monday. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/c3-ai-cuts-jobs-reduce-204321866.html Anyone know how many?
Citing "employee performance"? Wtf? Is this employee the CEO?
“Managers framed the cuts as related to the performance of the individual workers rather than layoffs, and many of those fired received only one month of severance, according to the report.” Wtf. Is it legal? I thought WARN Requires two months pay at least
Not if less than 75 in a work site location. And even then it's over a rolling 30 day window. Can easily cut 140 people over the course of 65 days.
Thats too bad for employees Every small to mid size company can easily work around by spacing out rounds of layoffs
As far as I know the cuts were not related to performance.
Knowing the company culture and its CEO I think it's pretty likely that they laid off people but made it sound like performance related
Looks like the layoffs happened in India where healthcare is cheap not a big deal.
Nope they happened in all offices where they were spacing the terminationations at a few every week at diferent locations. They near shored the jobs to mexico
Cost reduction is everywhere there. In the past, after you were hired, you used to get keyboards, mouse, everything from Apple. Now they have some senior person at office locations with a budget to order low cost accessories that seems to be from Temu. Same happening with the famous snacks… sometimes there’s not even drinking water to work at the office.
