How much does having an employee referral help at quant funds?
Specifically for: Jane Street, Citadel or PDT Partners?
At JS it helps a lot because employees almost exclusively refer people they know personally
Helps to get an interview or the offer?
Can help with the offer if your referrer is senior and the referral is strong. Otherwise mostly just interview.
In general, it’s helpful at any smaller sought after place. Smart people like working with like minded individuals and it’s much easier to bet on someone known than a stranger post interviewing

I don’t like the way the culture is shifting and talking to my friends at big tech they seem to be working on more interesting and engaging things. Comp seems about equal too
