I am not very familiar with Deloitte's structure. Coming from corporate, I got an offer for a Senior manager role. What should be the salary expectation? They said the bonus is 25% of the base that is not guaranteed. I believe, its 100% travel .
The general rule of thumb is that anything with senior in the job title is not senior. Ditto ‘executive’. I don’t know about US pay scales but it’s all openly online at Glassdoor and accurate. You can make SM after around 5 years after graduation. Can take a lot longer to get to Director. I’m an ex B4 Director.
Senior Manager at Deloitte is definitely senior Senior consultant is considered midtier or junior It’s analyst consultant senior consultant manager senior manager partner or managing director
You missed Director

SM at Deloitte is usually >8 YOE. Bonus 25% is a carrot. Very few get that and most will average between 10-15%. Increment is a crap. You can only hope to get promoted, but that’s a very competitive level for promos to PPMD. Also, experienced hires are generally treated less compared to graduate joiners. You will see people 5-10 years younger at the same levels as you.
100% accurate regarding experienced hires
Are you getting bonus % 25% in your offer letter? I don’t think so they write in offer letter
dont do it. 100% travel is not a life worth living.
That's been the life of consultants for a very long time. Some dont like it, I get that, but some can cope. You do get paid for taking on the lifestyle. Point is....it's a personal choice, not a universal evil.
I am childfree and the 100% travel is part of the allure. I love being on the road.
Glassdoor.com has salary data, by company, by title - an easy lookup. Best wishes!
100% travel is not worth the POTENTIAL of getting 25% bonus. That is just asking for a burnout.
Again, that's pretty much what consultants do, so...personal choice. YOU may burn out that way (and fine to warn someone of the risks), but....
What team?
If you don’t have sales experience with clients, and extensive proposal experience, don’t do it! This role is sent up for those who have been promoted through the firm and most who come in at SM with no consulting background, leave quickly. Not to mention starting in a pandemic might make it impossible to network and build your support team of leaders and those who report to you.
