Hi Blind, Currently deciding between 3 offers for new grad, all approx $180k TC except Better which is $190 Pros: Snap: returning intern, like the culture Asana: front loaded vesting Better: upleveled me to L4. This is a very curious pro for me. If anyone at Better/in the know can shed light on their leveling and how it compares to other companies, I'd love to hear Cons: Snap: idk how i feel about the stock Asana: San Francisco Better: i don't know much about the company, aside from what they do I'd like quick-ish promos and I'm an international student. Edited to add: also comment why you're voting one over the others. #swe #newgrad
Asana/better. You can always come back to snap, maybe faster than promoting internally to the next level 🥰
How long on average does it take to go from L3 to L4 at Snap? And what's the fastest you've ever seen/heard someone do it? Also do external L4s get paid more than internal promos/is it negotiable?
Asana new grad is 220
Snap is a dead company
Care to briefly tell us snap questions? Especially system design
There is no system design in Ba sing se
Update?
So Better up-leveled you but is still giving you comparatively new grad comp. Sounds like a terrible deal where you'd have more scope for less pay and your level wouldn't even be a significant factor externally. Go with Snap or Asana, Better isn't really comparable IMO.
So say i wanted to jump ship after 2/3 years at Better, I'd still be considered L4?
It's not advantageous to put level on resume anyways unless it's Senior or Staff. Even then, levels aren't really respected hopping to top companies unless you're already at somewhere like Google, Facebook, etc
