Does Indian managers only hire Indians?
I am currently at Thumbtack, previously working in FAANG. Ive just been casually accepting interview invitations. Currently have an offer from greenlight, a fintech start up for kids. Seems kind of interesting. And chewy working on medical prescriptions for pets, which is a new growth area, also seems sort of interesting. Neither company has the best reviews on here. Chewy is sde 2: 190 tc Greenlight sde 2: pending probably 140-200 with pre ipo stock I like thumbtack, the team is great, the culture is great. The product is a bit boring but not the worst. Probably staying put, but would appreciate some insight Sde 2 Tc 270 (60k paper money) will go down to 175 + paper end of this year
Thanks for sharing your data points, it helps anyone that’s actively looking for new roles. How will your non-paper component at Thumbtack go down by the end of the year?

Thank you for sharing that there are offers to be found if one cares to look. At this market I'd prefer real money over paper money, more money over less. Everything else is P2.
So far I don’t see a reason to move to either company.
That is a strong offer for Chewy and the pet health field is very exciting. The people from that team I work with seem pretty satisfied. Chewy is also a good place if you want to be safe from layoffs, but the money doesn't really kick in until you've been there a couple years.
How is the wlb/culture the space seems exciting but chewy as a whole does not, unless you like dogs
I mean at the end of the day you're doing IT for a pet store, it's not like you're working at blue origin. But I really agree with the company mission and their good public reputation is legitimate Most of the company is run by (and often staffed with) Amazon burnouts so a lot of Amazon principles apply. wlb is great as long as you maintain good boundaries and use your unlimited pto. Company culture seems to be results driven rather than control-your-life driven so if you work efficiently enough you won't see a lot of 50 hr weeks or anything
How was your interview experience at Greenlight? I’m considering applying for an open mobile dev role
Idk they take themselves too seriously imo
OP what have you decided eventually?
Stayed put, current company seemed like the best option lol
