How's the culture and WLB? I've heard there's a lot of pair programming, what is that like day to day? What's the tech stack like? How's the TC for software engineers?
Why they didnt win but stripe did?
How did stripe win? Stripe might have more dev friendly and easy integration, but bt is feature rich and being used on the largest platforms Facebook marketplace, Amazon, Google
Looking at valuation you can tell stripe win hands down. I am a stripe customer and don’t like their fraudulent charge handling. They are not small biz friendly for sure. Banks roll over it as they wish
I hear a lot of good things from my coworkers at BT, I think their APIs are all ruby? Might be getting converted to Java. Wlb seems great, the teams seem very diverse, unlike the rest of PayPal
There’s lots of Ruby. Java conversion isn’t happening anytime soon (if at all), but there is still already quite a bit of Java if that’s what you like. If you can make sure it’s an actual Braintree team, the WLB is really great compared to the rest of PayPal.
Can confirm. Source: am at the rest of PayPal
