Don't be fooled by the current state of affairs. We are on the cusp of a major shift in the business world. Throughout history, we have seen cycles of growth and decline in various industries. From the rise of manufacturing and engineering to the dominance of Big Tech, each cycle has had its time in the spotlight. But now, we are witnessing the end of one era and the beginning of another. The companies that were once at the top of their game are struggling to keep up. Apple is no longer the innovative powerhouse it once was, and Google's search engine is no longer as effective as it used to be. Even Meta's results are not as impressive as they could be, with an increasing number of ads taking over the platform. But this is not the end. The "Era of Attraction," as I like to call it, is coming to a close. The reliance on social media and smartphones has led to a decline in cognitive abilities and an increase in polarization and self-harm. It is only a matter of time before regulation steps in to address these issues. And it won't come from the US, but rather from emerging markets that hold modern production power and will benefit greatly from AI advancements. They will start to block screens and eventually, the US will follow suit. The cycle is ending, and while some companies try to use AI to increase profits, others are using it to solve real problems. OpenAI is leading the charge with their recent announcement of Sora, a platform that uses AI to solve complex problems. They are taking over the niches of commercial ads production, text editing, search, analysis, and research. Once they catch up to us in reasoning models, they will take over the world because they sell solutions, and we sell ads. It's time to sell our vests and go out with a bang because the cycle is over.
This is like saying the US government will regulate fast food because obesity is getting out of hand. They don’t care and if anything want you to be a screen addict.
Is there a chance you are overestimating the ability of OpenAI? You are just watching from the outside doing nothing, and you have the doom mentality that its all over, lets give up. Sure, there is a chance you are right. But I think you are underestimating things and you chose the easy coward route to just give up
Social media and addiction to Tiktok and other platforms is rising and not stopping. I don't see regulations coming. Emerging markets are even more addicted and people are lacking social connection like crazy. Let's go back to basics and ditch these useless networks. I turned off insta last year and I have no regrets. I was sick of posting my life on socials for the last 16 years. For what? Also realised that if you want connection, it is not through mass social media but actually getting in touch with people. Let's turn off social! Engineers here have made millions already (yes, layoffs, but you have so much more than anyone will ever have, don't be greedy).
> Even Meta's results are not as impressive as they could be, with an increasing number of ads taking over the platform. lol
Nah, it’s Uber’s era, we are either ordering or delivering. Which side are you on, OP?
Big corporations will reduce the number of workers, thanks to LLM / AI. Stocks will soar even more don’t sell your shares Salaries will not be attractive for the next generations. You can earn same or more doing any blue collar work.
What blue collar work? Lol
Big tech is bad because of prioritizing short term shareholder interest. And it’s not only tech. Whole world is prioritizing shareholder interest thus leading to mediocre products that doesn’t provide any customer satisfaction.
The later future is 99% of people including SWEs are no longer needed. Only top 1% will be needed to develop the AI and fine tune the end result, and labor jobs. SWEs are probably last to go but eventually it happens. Prompt: "Build me an insurance company and everything needed for it to run" "design me a plane that is more efficient than our latest, a long with all engineering plans and schematics, material and parts vendor lists, and marketing materials"
Oof.. Terrible examples.
Explain why
Bro. Read Aldous Huxley “Brave New World” and George Orwell “1984”. What we are headed towards is Braver New World than 1984.
