Strategic Partnerships Manager at Google Shopping/Facebook Commerce

With Facebook and Google investing in e-commerce, I am wondering if anyone can tell me how their strategic partnership teams work. Do they manage brands and retail partners, or technology partners like Bigcommerce, Shopify, Salesforce, Kenshoo etc. The word “partners” is a broad term and I would appreciate some insight here.
