Hello! I attend an interview with Nvidia for Sr software QA engineer. It went well and I got a request from HR department asking for few documents for my immigration assessment. I got another offer from Valeo, Detroit, Michigan. Position: Systems engineer, they promised me to make FO in near future. Base pay: 110k I had two questions: 1. Is it possible to get selected in Nvidia after one technical round, what does it mean if HR department asking for immigration assessment documents. 2. I had no idea about Bayarea salaries. What will be the Nvidia equivalent salary compared to my Valeo offer. Please give an estimate of Base-pay, Rsu’s, and bonus. YOE: 1.5
1. No. The first round is always screening. They might be checking if there are any complications while working around Visa or work authorization(if applicable to you). 2. New California law is coming from Jan 1st to show pay range for each role on every company job portal

First round is just to get a feel for the candidate. HR will follow up with a real interview schedule. So as of now you are still in process of interviewing
Is this the same for all teams? Coz I wasn’t contacted by HR yet and I’ve had multiple rounds of interviews
Ideally hr should have a chat before a formal onsite kind of interview. Because hr schedules the interviews. Engineers don't talk to the candidate directly
