He is. It took me a few months when I first started to belive how great it really is. Best of luck on your interviews. Private message me if you have additional questions. I will be happy to give you direct no fluff answers.
thanks, may take you up on it
How is the comp and benefits compared to good and MSFT?
Excellent especially for women
Comp is competitive and comprable. Benefits are the best I have seen. They even have the extreme stuff included like pet insurance, day care and adoption benefits. May I ask what position you are looking into? Operations, Sales, Dev, ..
Principle dev here. Looking at options
Cool. I'm in Ops. I can put you in touch with a dev in our Orange County office if you wanted to talk details and get the inside scoop.
How is the PM job at Zillow? Do they hire PM role in Seattle/Eastside?
Yes. We hire PMs in all offices. Seattle is our biggest office so you will find the most job postings there. We have offices in Seattle, Denver, Irvine, San Francisco, New York, Cincinati and a couple other places.
What do PMs do/own? I've heard they're more like consultants and actual feature planning and execution are done by program managers
Our office in Seattle is near Pikes Place downtown. We don't have an office eastside/Bellevue.
BTW, it's "Pike Place". You must be from out of town :)

Are tech workers as rich as they think we are?
Transparent, positive and innovative. Everyone has a voice regardless of hierarchy. No glass ceiling, smart and hard workers are rewarded. Going on 6 years now, less than 5 days total when I got up in the morning and was not excited to go to work. Work life balance encouraged. Awesome food and benefits. Overall great culture.
that is my impression, thanks for your input. I am in talks with them and culture is important. Also the CEO seems really sincere.
@zgal that's absurd. devops is code for 'write crappy code and push it into production and make operations deal with the dumpster fire.' maybe if we had mature developers who were actually competent your argument would have merit, but we don't.
