Zillow interview
Update: got an offer I had a loop with Zillow on Tuesday. I just got an email from the recruiter saying that he just got out of the debrief and the response was positive. They asked me for availability to setup a call to talk to hiring manager about my career aspirations. Does that mean an offer or can something change after this. I will post more details about position after I get an offer. TC 🥜
Hang on, it's not over yet. Treat the HM like any other interview. Don't let your guard down.
They're down 70% in the last year. Didn't they also do major layoffs quite recently? Why would you ever want to join that sinking ship? They're throwing their own people overboard to try to stay afloat. To them you are nothing more than another disposable anchor at the front of the line. The reason they're hiring right now is because they laid off the devs you're replacing, which means they didn't have the foresight back then, and you can bet they don't have it now. Stay away from Zillow for your own sake
I appreciate your concern. But my current TC is very low and don’t have any other offers. Also many people mentioned that the lay off impacted only the Zillow offers org. Not sure if that’s true.
How was interview difficulty?
2 coding rounds, 1 design and 1 HM round. One of the coding round was on the hard side. I was not able to give the complete working solution but I was able to explain how it would work. Other Coding round was LC easy. The design round and HM round were pretty basic. I know for a fact that if you have practiced enough and try to give them a working solution, you will be fine. You can also give a brute force solution and explain them how you would improve the efficiency. Dm me if you need more info.
