A recruiter from Capital One reached out for a director role. At first I wasn’t interested, but I recently heard they are trying to be more competitive with Amazon now in the area. Not sure how accurate that is. Does anyone here know what Capital One’s comp package looks like?
Ask the recruiter the pay package and range. Make your expectations known early on. No point in going through the interviews to be disappointed. Salary discussion is not a taboo topic. For c1, I know they don’t get rsu unless you’re Director/Distinguished Engineer or above. Even then, you get the grant only after year 1.
This is incorrect, rsu start at manager level now.
It starts at senior manager level, not first line manager
I'm director level and comp is $350k-450k fully remote. $250k base the rest is perf based annual bonus and rsu. Would be more if based in McLean, nyc, San Fran. This would be engineering director not product or other
That would be low end L6 offer. Not to mention slow growing financial services stock with the same downside risk in a recession if not more as credit cards are their golden goose.
OP are you in engineering?
Capital One Labs probably the only interesting part
