I wanted to thank Blind family - you guys have changed my life completely. I found my support group, I got honest, critical feedback, I even got help from people who don’t know who I am (I am amazed at how kind everybody here is - even with complete strangers, and no expectations in return - after all you don’t really know each other), and I got valuable advise. These are the top most changes in the last one year: 1) Cracked multiple interviews and got confidence that was missing earlier. 2) I was lost after losing my son - blind family gathered around me and enveloped me with their love, encouragement and support - I can not thank them enough for this. I dont even know any of them, but they spent precious time and gave me invaluable advise. 3) Cheered for me when I welcomed my daughter into this world. 4) Helped me stand up for myself and not get bullied. and here is the best part - I was a snowflake earlier - in just one year, I am now immune to useless criticism and trolling. I welcome them and can respond calmly (and instead feel sorry for those who cannot empathize with someone else and need the feel to bring them down). I am sure I can apply this to other aspects of my life. I know sometimes it seems toxic, but I stay because when you scroll down, you see a witty remark which makes you laugh out loud... there is an inspiring statement which makes you ponder... but mainly because it is my turn to give back and support our blind family - sometimes with a few words of encouragement, and sometimes with a witty remark. I know this is a long post but there is a high chance we might have spoken (I had few different ids to protect my identity - so each post gave only a glimpse of a snippet of my life. So even though we might never meet in the real world - know that you have made a difference in my life. And for that, Thank you!
Blind is tough love. Tells you exactly how it is before you come up with unhealthy coping mechanisms. Tells you explicitly what to do to deal with problems without sugar coating. Initially tough advice to hear but better for the long run.
Blind post is real and honest no matter it’s friendly help or brutal criticism. Thank you for your post.
