Zoox offer eval
I received an offer from Zoox for L4 Software Engineer role. Here are the initial numbers: Base: 185k Sign on bonus: 62k Amazon RSUs: $138k vested over 3 years 20/40/40 ZARS: 70000 vested over 6 years 0/15/20/20/20/25 Location: Foster City, CA First year comes up to ~$274k (that includes sign on) YOE: 6 Current TC: 240k How does this compare to other offers from Zoox?
What's the value of zars. What happens in your year 2 when you take off sign on from year 2? Sounds to me like a dip?
If they appreciate a lot no dip, but that's far from guaranteed

Have they told you what the zar price is and what to expect as the growth? The 6 year total vesting and the 2 year cliff was one of the deal breakers for me. Strange to me why they do that.
Where did you go instead? Not many self-driving companies with liquid offers
Some big companies are investing like Uber, NVIDIA and apple. Haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’d say that’s an outstanding offer and u get to work in av industry. Though the base salary is low for L4, they’re making up for it by offering you high sign on, Amazon, and zoox stock.
What is the typical range for L4? And kinda thread-jacking, but would you say the ranges are similar for Design and Manufacturing Engineers? I realized I may have accidentally low-balled myself... badly.
Zoox packages are more equity heavy if anything, don’t expect a super high base even with good interview performance. You’d come in at a low strike price if you join, basically getting the share at a discount. Lock it in now and be an early employee, we’re not too far away from transitioning into an RSU model. You wanna be someone who came in when we had ZARs.

Good initial offer. Get a competing offer, that’s how you can push easily for more. Good RSU (amazon) number. L4 can make 190k-210k base from what I’ve seen, but unsure of their equity makeup.
