Would you join Okta now? Received interview there. Wondering if I should go through with it.
I read they are prone to do a layoff soon as they over hired during pandemic due to crazy growth and now that growth is leveling off they’ll look to cut costs
Can you share where you read that?
Layoffs are really unlikely. They might slow their hiring a bit.
Layoffs can happen any company at any time, specially depends on macroeconomics But inside it's business as usual so far Our ER is out today so you can read it to check the financial health of the company
Well judging from my recent experience, something messy is happening. Applied for a role, did screener in first week. Took four weeks for initial hiring manager interview to be scheduled, all kinds of ridiculous time slots given, HM interview hasn't even happened yet then just got a mail that the role had been filled. Crappy hiring processes (same I had with Twitter) are never a good initial sign for me.
I also just went through the interview process and got a job offer for a senior product designer role. Recruiter kept in touch and moved quickly. Didn’t have trouble scheduling interviews or anything.
How long between interviews did you hear back?
Just 1 business day
Layoffs are imminent and there is a hiring freeze.
Fake news
There is no hiring freeze. Stop spreading bullshit
Lots of people onboarding every week. They said we’re still hiring a lot but just as not much as predicted since the hiring plan was created when everything was on the ups.
