@xydq10 can I message you for info? Interview right now for them
Which Samsung? Most subsidiaries have garbage culture and pay. Electronics business have big problems. Semiconductor business is still in toilet. There are few high pay positions at research institutes. Don’t have PhDs? Forget about it.
Yea... for RnD sector, 100% PhD or go home. You'll be just a glorified tech or assistant in most places imo
Culture shocking, pls skip
I saybit really depends on which samsung. If you mean Samsung Austin, I personally had pretty good experience... not the best but not bad either, solid mid or upper mid. For Samsung Electronics America, it was hands down bad. Little to no room for promotion or growth as in learning.
Really unpleasant to work with people from Samsung Electronics America.
Samsung Ada in EU. I am based in London, sorry for not mentioning earlier. I am actually wondering if there are any good companies left to consider. I ve interviewed with Cloudflare recently and there were red flags everywhere. Same with Mastercard.
I'm at SSI and genuinely like it. The relationship with Korea can be fraught, but I've learned to work with it. My team is great and I have good balance most of the time.
SRA is pretty terrible right now. Working nights, weekends for now.
What org are you interviewing for? Lot of key decisions are taken at HQ. Although YMMV depending on the product/team etc.
utter garbage, micromanaging management, stuck in the 2000s. join only if you have been laid off and no other offer in hand. many people stuck there will leave if they can
Skip Samsung. It's a horrible culture for Americans, and if your project isn't run by Koreans, it will be after the next re-org.
