I'm currently interviewing with a few companies in LA for HWE positions (rocket startup, defense startup) and have no clue what range of TC to expect. Current industry: Defense Current residence: Huntsville, AL TC: 85k Yoe: 2 Companies interviewing: Relativity Space - Long Beach Anduril Industries - Irvine What would he a fair TC adjusted for cost of living? I see such a crazy wide range of TCs on here and just wanted to make sure I don't low ball myself if I end up making the jump out west.
Key 1, don’t tell Anduril your current salary or salary expectations. Legally (CA)they’re not allowed to ask you for your salary. Let them give numbers first. Get at least 120k base + equity from them assuming you ace the interviews. Anduril pays close to tech money for defense jobs.
Assuming you’ve been in design roles and are great at it, that tc is likely achievable
Around 110-120k base for 2 YoE in SoCal for defense/space jobs.
Damn I got offered 102K for 2 yoe from Northrop I thought that was high. But LA area
Wait you guys got offered that high??
Anduril offers are close to FAANG for the SoCal area. Don’t tell them your current TC. You can expect around 160-190k TC at your level. See: https://www.levels.fyi/company/Anduril-Industries/salaries/Software-Engineer/ Post again once you have offers we can help :)
Will do thanks!
