Very impressive offer for SXM/P. Don’t know about WLB at Chewy but it’s excellent at Pandora and the main reason I’m here. I’m a SWE not DS but feel free to DM if you have any particular questions about the company.

Stay away from Chewy… didn’t you see the stock performance lately? If the company can’t turn profitable during these pandemic years you really think there’s growth given inflation getting worse? Also Chewy has terrible WLB, very toxic culture

I talked to the hiring manager and they seemed to value wlb. Is it team dependent mostly? Also i see so many amazon people. Is the culture more like amazon only

Chewy Hahawow Apr 1, 2022

Wlb will be fine, just very boring and not a tech oriented company

The peak of the pandemic was also the peak for many ecomm online only companies like chewy. Now things are cooling back down after realizing how competitive the ecomm space really is. I believe SXM/P will do well in coming years. Of course, do your own market research.

Yup. What makes you think sxm does good long term

I would pick Chewy. This is the right time to join Chewy to take advantage of recent stock decline, tremendous upside from here. Inflation & supply chain issues have affected stock prices across several companies recently, but things should improve later this year & back to growth. Also I have several friends at Chewy who all seem to be happy with wlb & comp.

Are they in DS

This last year Warren Buffet endorsed Sirius XM and bought a ton of stock so it may be a good investment. 🤷‍♀️ WLB is good a SXM, but so corporate is very slow to react to anything. If you thrive on getting things done it’s probably not the place for you. If you want good money and a relatively chill atmosphere you may like it. I’ve only been a remote employee so can’t speak for what their world will be like now most are beginning to go to an office.

Come to P/SXM! We are still working through the pain points of the various acquisitions but new technology leadership looks promising. WLB is the best and the Oakland office and people are a highlight. Data science is well respected in the company.

Is senior DS different than senior product analyst there? I see product analyst roles open there but not

Pandora SJkf83 Apr 4, 2022

Definitely SXM/P, WLB is very good, culture is amazing and science is respected and has it's say on Business and Product decisions. SXM stock is very stable. Scientists are also top notch and many opportunity to learn and grow! I'm in Science, feel free to ask more questions

I'm not sure I would agree that WLB is good at SXMP. In the past year or two my area has lost a lot of good people, and those still here inherit projects from the departed. Another point is that legacy P employees get a 25% more vacation than newer SXMP hires. So you may get different takes on WLB depending.
